In this class we: will explore the basics of english paper piecing quilting and make a little florette sample to be used as a patch or the beginning of a new project
Good for:
-following instructions, people who love order, structure, and layout
-making use of those weird little fabric scraps you’ve been holding onto
-nostalgia and tapping into your ‘senior’ self
Guaranteed offering: you’ll take away any samples that you make, and the knowledge to start your own EPP quilting at your leisure
The finer details
Each participant will choose their fabric swatches from my collection of vintage quilting materials. If you want to bring a 100% cotton quilting fabric scrap from your own collection, please do!
There will be brief instruction on: cutting fabric hexagons, paper gluing technique & applique technique, threading a needle and hand stitching our pieces together. We’ll use grid paper to consider EPP quilting design options on a larger scale. The rest of our time will be spent hand stitching our florettes, and chatting with our new pals.
